Coming Soon: Canva

While I may not have blog followers yet, I feel the need to explain my absence: the past few months have been a flurry of conference and article proposals, and one fluke grant proposal. All involve digital literacy in one way or another, and I've spent many hours wading through countless pdfs considering writing centers' roles in providing digital literacy support and why digital literacy skills are so important for college students' retention, persistence, and graduation rates. That doesn't mean I haven't spent time playing with new software; I will always be nerding out with some new tool or service online, convincing myself that it will help me with all the things. So review number two will be on Canva, free design and layout software. With it, I've created Twitter, Facebook, and blog banners and marketing flyers and postcards. In my upcoming review, I'll post a few samples and talk about how it works and why I love it and think students, writing centers, and teachers will love it, too.
