Pearltrees 2.0

On May 22, 2014, Pearltrees 2.0 was released, with fairly significant updates to the design and user interface (see their blog post here). Pearls are now larger squares that are organized on a grid, rather than a cluster map, and much of the language around "pearls" has been changed. I will add images of this new version and comment on its usability after playing with it a bit. My initial response to the update is negative because I feel they've lost what set them apart from other social bookmarking sites, and many other have echoed these sentiments in responding to the 2.0 update on the Pearltrees blog and social media accounts. However, the 1.0 version is still an accessible option, and some are calling for an open source version, which would be an interesting alternative. Overall though, I still advocate using Pearltrees and will report back on the new version soon.
